Kristen Bell needs $2 million. (No she doesn't)

Fan boys and fan girls alike are abuzz with the prospect of a Veronica Mars movie.  The former UPN Nancy Drew ripoff teen private investigator show starring Kristen Bell looks to finally be making its way to the big screen.  But as with everything in Hollywood, there's a catch.  Ms. Bell and VM creator Rob Thomas (who I once sucked up to mercilessly) apparently aren't getting any love from Warner Bros (the studio behind the show) about the project.  So instead, they've decided to panhandle the public for the $2 million the project apparently requires with a Kickstarter campaign.

But before you donate your hard-earned cash to Bell and Thomas, I ask you this...

Damn right. Even more so, what about all the hungry starving artists looking for a chance to break in. When do we get our two million? Why give two million to a crap movie when you could give it to something original?

I cannot wait for this kickstarter campaign to crash and burn. Why does every terrible idea in LA think crowd sourcing is going to make it happen?

If you give that homeless guy the money, he'll probably just go buy $2M worth of crack. Whereas if you give Kristen Bell the money, at least you'll get a (probably) crappy movie out of it.

At least the creators were brave enough to ask for money. What have any of you ever done? Stop judging them.
